How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
It helps with planning and sequencing. It can give an overly long time to some areas - fractions and decimals for several weeks.
How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?
Well: The content is inclusive and sensitively presented
It enables us to provide support for all our pupils. Less effective for SEN pupils.
How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
We have to provide other support for SEN pupils. Some staff are also needing to devise challenges for our exceptional attainers.
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
The activities are engaging. Staff do have to supplement with further 'real-life' activities from other providers.
How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
We use the end of unit tests but sometimes find these do not measure up against standardised outcomes.
How well does it support planning?
Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation
We use ERM as a workload measure and remote support - we are of the general opinion it is useful.
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Reasonably: It could be used at home or independently, but pupils would need some extra support or resources
Parents find the videos laborious and skip them! Accessing 'sheets' has been a concern. Something more interactive, with less reliance on recording might be helpful.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen.
We plan to continue with the use as it is offering us value for money overall.
