How well does it match the curriculum?

Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected

A good resource to back up spag objectives but not enough activities to last more than a few weeks/months. Not all objectives covered or revisited in each year

How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?

Well: The content is inclusive and sensitively presented

No differentiation available

How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?

Reasonably: Essentially there’s enough for most pupils but there isn’t enough support / extension or challenge

Lacks challenge or support and not always the same objectives in year below or after so can’t set same spag objective for all abilities

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so

As the activities are short, the children find them manageable

How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?

Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited

Don’t really use it for assessment as children complete at home

How well does it support planning?

Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement

Doesn’t cover all the spag objectives so can only dip into it

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources

Children find it easy to use and use it independently for homework

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen

Best resource we use for standalone spag revision, just wish it covered more objectives
