How well does this resource address your school’s assessments needs?
What are the best features of NFER Tests?
- It gives a quick picture of the overall progress of the children in your school.
- The teacher diagnostic guide shows where children have made common errors.
- It comes with analysis to show where common gaps are for your class which makes it easy to plug the gaps.
- The similarity to national assessments. The way that they provide age and standardised scores. The fact that a number of schools use them so the data compared is more robust.
- The tests are easy to administer and the format is similar to SATs so good preparation and experience for the pupils.
What additional features would you ideally like to see in future assessment resources?
- Ability to see which year group a particular question comes from on the actual assessment. Reinforces the fact that they have covered this.
- Report writing template, 'child-speak' targets
- Online as well as paper; ease of use; verbal assessments for children who find writing a challenge.
