With lower ability children it needs a bit more work, but great for a typical range in a class.
How well does it match the curriculum?
Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected
I really love the auditory and visual aspects which support the learning.
How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?
Well: The content is inclusive and sensitively presented
Things need to be adapted a bit but still very comprehensive.
How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?
Reasonably: I have a wider range of children than average so I needed to differentiate a lot more than most need to.
The lower ability needed more work
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so
Very engaging
How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
We have a new scheme of work which it doesn't tie in perfectly to, but it has the main points
How well does it support planning?
Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation
It provides good and clear progression
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources
It's effective
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Reasonably: It represents about the same value for money as similar resources I’ve seen
It's fair value for money
