A good resource that will satisfy the national curriculum needs and support less confident teachers
How well does it match the curriculum?
Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected
Clear progression through years covering the national curriculum
How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?
Reasonably: There is some representation of minorities and no real stereotyping
Good support for less able; ethnic diversity not immediately apparent
How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
Highest ability need greater challenge
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
Children enjoy lessons, they are paced and use a range of resources
How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
Clear objectives make formative assessment clear
How well does it support planning?
Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes
All the planning is there, just needs adapting to class context
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Reasonably: It could be used at home or independently, but pupils would need some extra support or resources
Not much opportunity for independent enquiry, but I’m not sure this is needed unless it could be included for the gifted.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen
Very good value
