Review rating:
How well does it match the curriculum?
Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected
Covers all elements of the primary national curriculum as well as providing additional enrichment coverage
How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?
Well: The content is inclusive and sensitively presented
Provides video tutorials that can be accessed by pupils
How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?
Reasonably: It provides suggested additional challenges once a unit of work has been completed but this is an area I feel could be developed further
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so
Pupils are always asking when they are next doing computing
How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
Provides accessment grids for each unit of work. However it could provide additional statements such as ‘a pupil working towards can… a pupils working at the expected standard can… a pupil working at greater depth can…
How well does it support planning?
Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement
Instructions and video tutorials are provided but no learning objectives or success criteria. Instead it provides info on the key skills e.g. copy and paste text and images etc
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Brilliantly: We’d have very few reservations about using this extensively to support home learning
Used it throughout all lockdowns. I like that tutorials are provided for all devices (Apple, Android and PC). Over 95% of software used is free
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen.
As a PPA teacher who covers Y1-6, I’ve found it the best money I’ve spent
