How well does it match the curriculum?
Reasonably: It’s good enough for the money, but needs some additional resources
There are some areas that are relevant to the primary curriculum but I know it is aimed across phases from KS1 up.
How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?
Well: The content is inclusive and sensitively presented
We have used a number of cross-cultural themes linked to history in school.
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Reasonably: We can’t use it too often or for too long
It does need work on it to ensure that it motivates all.
How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
I can not really comment on this as we have not used it for this. I know it looks at the key historical skills which support our staff.
How well does it support planning?
Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement
It gives you ideas and knowledge to support in devising a lesson.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
For the knowledge and ideas for teaching, links to CPD for staff and networking I feel it is worth its value.
