How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
Some good ideas based on research and quality understanding of what geography is.
How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?
Well: The content is inclusive and sensitively presented
Takes a range of societal makeups and backgrounds.
How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?
Reasonably: Some teacher thought is required but that’s no bad thing.
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
Pupils enjoy the topics and it engages them well.
How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
Teachers are required to look for ways to create assessment opportunities but this is not too difficult in the context of the framework that is provided
How well does it support planning?
Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation
Some additional planning is required but a strong base is provided.
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Badly: It’s not really suitable for home use or independent learning
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen
Units are very reasonably priced.
