How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
For the less confident teacher DATA gives something that QCA documents used to do many years ago and the topics fit or can be easily adapted to fit most curriculum areas.
How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?
Well: The content is inclusive and sensitively presented
A very practical subject so inclusive of many needs and accessible by most in mainstream school
How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
The projects are quite open ended
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
Children enjoy the practical aspect of DT
How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
Teacher assessment still needed.
How well does it support planning?
Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes
It’s all done for you.
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Reasonably: It could be used at home or independently, but pupils would need some extra support or resources
Teachers would have to set the work on another platform.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen
Low cost subscription compared to others.
