How well does it match the curriculum?
Reasonably: It’s good enough for the money, but needs some additional resources
Easy to use but needs input from the coordinator
How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?
Reasonably: There is some representation of minorities and no real stereotyping
Depending on which units you choose
How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
Very simple to see
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
Children love the units we have studied so far
How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
Works well within my class but doesn’t tell English coordinators much
How well does it support planning?
Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation
Easy to use
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources
With some adaptions we started using this in the pandemic
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
We have been through a few recently on trials and this was my favourite but not as good as the anthology scheme we first had
