Review rating:

The training available,  though costing extra, is excellent and in my view essential

How well does it match the curriculum?

Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected

Teachers select and adapt planning content. The texts used are good quality and wide ranging in subject.

How well does it support your school’s inclusion/diversity/equal opportunities policy?

Well: The content is inclusive and sensitively presented

Year 4 recently selected a text about Romans that incorporated a young black girl and challenged stereotypes

How well does it support differentiation for the full range of the classes you use it with?

Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils

It still requires teachers to use their skill and knowledge to adapt resources but there is scope to do this

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so

Again, any resource is only as good as the teacher using it but the potential is there to support quality teaching. No resource replaces a teacher's enthusiasm and deep subject knowledge

How well supported is it by accompanying formative assessments?

Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited

No problem, we don't want assessment to be a priority with this resource

How well does it support planning?

Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation

Lots of detail and explanations when needed

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources, when needed

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen.

But don't forget to include the cost of buying texts for class use
