A fantastic whole school computing resource loved by pupils, parents and staff alike.
How well does it match the curriculum?
Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected
Great userability for the children and staff alike. Can be accessed both in home and in school. Children engagement levels high. Skills taught in a fund engaging way
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Brilliantly: There is a wide enough range of resources to provide a good range of options for all pupils
The programme could use an algorithm to focus in on the ability of each individual child to enable automatic next steps.
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so
The children love computing lessons on purple mash and engage in them when used for homework also. Sometimes they choose things which are too difficult and this can impact on their learning and confidence
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Badly: There isn’t any / enough formative assessment or what there is, isn’t very useful
Do not use the formative assessment it provides so am unable to comment on the quality. However the accessibility is not great hence why I do not use it.
How well does it support planning?
Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation
Great resource and planning support across all year groups. Very supportive for an ECT or teacher new to the programme.
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Brilliantly: We’d have very few reservations about using this extensively to support home learning
Really useful during periods of home learning for all of our children. Parents loved the fact that it could be accessed on an iPad or phone making it much more accessible for them as families with limited access to computers.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
Yes its reasonably priced and something we invest in year on year as a school. I would be concerned on the affordability if the price were to increase
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 11/11
