Variety of activities
How well does it match the curriculum?
Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected
It is easy to use with clear lesson plans and PowerPoints. There are also assessment activities. We have mixed age classes and it enables us to match the units onto our long term map.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Reasonably: Essentially there’s enough for most pupils but there isn’t enough support.
Activities for SEN pupils are lacking. The units we have done so far have been good for the majority of pupils and the more able can be extended.
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
The children have enjoyed the coding units. It is useful to be able to set 2 dos for homework. We have supplemented some units using teach computing including technology in our lives.
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
These have improved and now include I can statements.
How well does it support planning?
Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes
We have used the units directly without modifying and refer to them in our long term plan. The weekly lessons are well explained and supported with short videos to explain.
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Brilliantly: We’d have very few reservations about using this extensively to support home learning
To dos can be set for home use.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen
There are many curriculum areas and the children enjoy using it. Some of the activities are very literacy based for example the history and geography so I don’t find them as useful for KS1. The maths activities help support fluency.
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 11/11
