How well does it match the curriculum?

Reasonably: It’s good enough for the money, but needs some additional resources

Supports teachers in delivering the national curriculum expectations. Does not prepare children adequately for their future use of computers (office programs, internet browsing, coding)

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Reasonably: Essentially there’s enough for most pupils but there isn’t enough support / extension or challenge. Limited platform can make it difficult to feel like you are challenging more able pupils

Links with other computing programs would allow pupils a wider range of experience and help them to see more purpose in their computing lessons.

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so

It is easy for the pupils to navigate and find their work and is very structured but for others it can feel very limiting

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress

Can be a challenge for staff to understand how they can assess pupils work after the lesson

How well does it support planning?

Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation

Good scheme of work to follow which supports teachers and enables them to cover the minimum standards

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources

Pupils have home logins that they can use to access the platform and complete tasks. We used it somewhat during lockdown to support children with some curriculum areas.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Reasonably: It represents about the same value for money as similar resources I’ve seen
