Purple Mash is definitely worth investing in

How well does it match the curriculum?

Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected

Very easy to access, easy to set up, broad range of activities, can adapt our own activities, children can upload their own work.

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils

Our classes have a very diverse range of abilities - not sure how this could be reflected in Purple Mash as children are put in one class

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so

Children really enjoy completing tasks, homework is completed by the majority of the class, they like that they can use tablets to access PM

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Badly: There isn’t any / enough formative assessment or what there is, isn’t very useful

PM is task based, we use the results of the tasks to assess children but there is no functionality to assess pupils in the app

How well does it support planning?

Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement

It supports the plans we already have in place, we can't use tasks to form a complete plan in itself

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Brilliantly: We’d have very few reservations about using this extensively to support home learning

Children love using PM at home. Homework always gets completed. Very engaging for children to use.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen

Very good value for money, considering the price and that we have access to cross-curricular tasks across subjects
