We are happy to renew our commitment to Purple Mash and have done for many years!

How well does it match the curriculum?

Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected

It contains relevant up to date sections that are easy to navigate and search through. It also contains lists of tasks linked to the Welsh Curriculum.

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Brilliantly: There is a wide enough range of resources to provide a good range of options for all pupils

Nothing needed to improve it - it's easy to log into and access as it has mini-mash for the pupils in the Foundation Phase.

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so

Pupils love the easy and interactive nature of the activities. As we use a lot on chrome books, we could do with sorting out our own way to print work.

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited

We don't tend to use it for this.

How well does it support planning?

Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation

It is easy to find and follow with minimum adjustment. We use it particularly for ICT and covering the DCF.

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources

It was useful in the lockdown and for weekly home learning.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen

We think it is good value for money! Perhaps integration with Hwb for the Welsh context and this would also help with signing in!
