How well does it match the curriculum?

Reasonably: It’s good enough for the money, but needs some additional resources

It has some of the same sounds but the children need to apply it

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Badly: There isn’t enough range or some the age-related expectations are misaligned

There is none.

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Reasonably: We can’t use it too often or for too long

After 5 minutes most lose interest.

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Badly: There isn’t any / enough formative assessment or what there is, isn’t very useful

I do not find this beneficial.

How well does it support planning?

Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation

Apart from cutting all the word cards out, there is not much prep needed.

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Badly: It’s not really suitable for home use or independent learning

Nothing for home learning.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Reasonably: It represents about the same value for money as similar resources I’ve seen

We needed to use it for Ofsted.

Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 3/11
