It is an excellent resource, we saw huge improvements particularly in y6 progress and felt that it supported the children hugely in answering test type questions.

How well does it match the curriculum?

Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected

Excellent use of Visual representations in maths. The maths follows the approach we use in school where children are given fluency q’s, reasoning then problem solving. The question sets in both English and maths are well matched to the curriculum. The main weakness would be the amount of question sets being much less for y2/3 than there is in upper ks2.

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Brilliantly: There is a wide enough range of resources to provide a good range of options for all pupils

The question sets support differentiation very well in the way that they move from fluency. Reasoning and onto problem solving. If required an additional question set can be used for children working below expectations.

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so

The children love seeing themselves progress through the questions. They like the immediate feedback at the point of learning and they engage well with the fact that it is an online resource. I would like to see more question sets across the age ranges and across the wider curriculum.

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Brilliantly: We could (or do) use it for monitoring pupils or classes, for gap analysis or to inform intervention strategies

The immediate assessment provided clarity for teachers on where support is needed.

How well does it support planning?

Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes

The question sets are already prepared to it hugely reduces teacher workload yet high quality questions are provided. It would be useful if question sets could be scheduled to start at a later time or the next day.

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Brilliantly: We’d have very few reservations about using this extensively to support home learning

We used LBQ for remote learning during Covid and it was very accessible. Parents and children enjoyed using this as a resource more that any other activity. This was mainly due to the immediate feedback that it provides so parents could leave the children to work independently.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen

We bought the tablets and did not find these to be of value for money due to the unreliability of them. We would purchase separate iPads going forward. It is expensive to buy the licenses for more than just our ks2 staff for the amount of resources available for ks1.

Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 11/11
