Average rating across all Learning by Questions reviews: 3.9/5

How well does it match the curriculum?

Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected

It's brilliant for revision and for spotting strengths and weaknesses across a cohort and for individuals. I suspect it might lose its novelty value if used throughout the year

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Brilliantly: There is a wide enough range of resources to provide a good range of options for all pupils

Needs more Y1 pitched resources for older pupils - low reading age but older readers, in reading and in maths

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so

They like the fact that it is online, they compete for team points for first second and third. They like being able to access it individually

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Brilliantly: We could (or do) use it for monitoring pupils or classes, for gap analysis or to inform intervention strategies

The Y6 SAT assessment materials are perfect for the revision period immediately before SATS - the assessments replicate the real thing brilliantly

How well does it support planning?

Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation

Strengths - provides practice for topics across the board and in every subject. I like the way every genre is covered in the reading. Weaknesses - none really

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources

I'd be interested in paying for a three month subscription - I wouldn't use it for a year.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Reasonably: It represents about the same value for money as similar resources I’ve seen

I would say providing different options for subscription lengths eg three months, six months, a year, etc

Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 9/11
