How well does it match the curriculum?
Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected
All resources included including music and supporting videos, teacher training and website links embedded in plans in both PDF and editable word format. Clear and easy to use for music specialists and non-specialised.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
Needs more topic based units that support other parts of the curriculum eg science and geography and maths.
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so
So easy to use and is up to date with the model music curriculum. I think it could have interactive games for pupils to use or quizzes to review learning for a unit.
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
We don't really use the assessment element for individual pupils but for the group as a whole. No formal assessment included
How well does it support planning?
Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes
Fully planned for each year group including resources and training videos for any teacher unsure of a musical element
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen
Allowing individual membership for perepetetic teachers / home tutors although can have a week's free trial. Is quite reasonably priced for a school but not individuals.
