We used Kapow whilst we were developing our curriculum so it was useful us l to have it in place
How well does it match the curriculum?
Reasonably: It’s good enough for the money, but needs some additional resources
Lessons are all well resourced and the lesson plans are easy to follow. It gives steps for how to differentiate if needed
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Reasonably: Essentially there’s enough for most pupils but there isn’t enough extension or challenge. The extensions are, in my opinion, not challenging enough and usually include more of the same.
I think that thelLessons could be a little more challenging and some of the subject matter is a little ‘wishy washy’
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Reasonably: We can’t use it too often or for too long
The videos which support and the resources are well presented and nice for the children to use and look at
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
I haven’t really used the assessment so can’t comment on this area however I have looked at it and like the statements
How well does it support planning?
Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement
All planned out and ready for teachers so it helps with work life balance. Not all the lessons are very good and sometimes they do not move at a fast enough pace
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Reasonably: It represents about the same value for money as similar resources I’ve seen
Seems to be value for money in my opinion however I would not invest again as I think the lessons are not rigorous enough
