How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
Teacher videos are provided for subject knowledge and their is progression of skills for the scheme of learning. The PPTs are limited in content and so teacher workload is higher than I’d like it to be
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Reasonably: Essentially there’s enough for most pupils but there isn’t enough support, extension or challenge
Differentiation isn’t there, it’s just a one size fits all. If there were differential activities for different abilities this would be more appealing
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
They are interested in learning a new language but the PPTs are dry and don’t provide much excitement
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
How well does it support planning?
Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation
There is minimal planning required but it does often require you to go and get resources for the lesson to run well
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
The PPTs could be better and more in depth and the requirement to get equipment less. Assessment grids
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 8/11
