How well does it match the curriculum?
Reasonably: It’s good enough for the money, but needs some additional resources
Broad range of ideas to encourage children’s creativity and exploring mediums. Some of the activities they suggest do not flow well enough for me, I like to see a build up of skill to final piece and Kapow for me wasn’t hitting that.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Reasonably: Essentially there’s enough for most pupils but there isn’t enough support.
Added resources or ideas to link in another year groups tasks would help. There are some parts with differentiation through use of a template. But I wonder if it’s the skills that need differentiation how they could do that
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Reasonably: We can’t use it too often or for too long
The videos for helping are fab for the kids. We (for those staff who use it) find we would like to come away from Kapow sallow more creativity. Sometimes the activities aren’t that engaging
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
We do not assess art in our school. Art is a creative subject which many non-academic children enjoy and can do well in.
How well does it support planning?
Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement
There’s a bank of ideas and videos should you need. But for some reason, the teachers at my school prefer to find their own ideas
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Reasonably: It represents about the same value for money as similar resources I’ve seen
Make the website easier to use, teachers found following the lessons bitty and not flowing well enough
