How well does it match the curriculum?
Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected
Good for non-specialist teachers, like myself! Requires specific resources for some units, some of which we didn’t have and had to invest in.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
Could use challenges for the more able within the lesson itself rather than a totally different activity, e.g. use an iPad to complete a further activity
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so
Engaging with relevant and interesting activities and lots of opportunities to work practically and ‘do’ rather than just listening
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
Nothing formal but there is assessment criteria which supports us. Saying that, this is not something we require so doesn’t affect our overall opinion
How well does it support planning?
Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes
Everything is there for you to use including differentiation (subject to the comments on differentiation earlier which really is the only fault I can think of)
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen
Lower price is always an incentive for schools but the scheme itself is good value. No complaints from us about value for money.
