How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
Very good for the non specialist teacher, very well resourcedand easily organised. I like the videos. I can't think of any weaknesses.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
SEND links? Needs: dyslexic friendly texts, more multicultural links maybe although there are some in the scheme already
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
There are the full variety of genres of art and eras I think there are some very creative activities which are not in other art schemes of work
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
This is not a criticism. I think formative assessment cannot necessarily be written into a scheme- it would negate having teachers as it is questioning and that relies on the teacher knowing the class
How well does it support planning?
Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes
As I have commented previously, it is brilliant at supporting the non-specialist because everything is there and the national curriculum for art is covered.
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? /11
