A great resource to help support teachers - especially those who are less confident or who do not feel they have the skills and subject knowledge to deliver high level art lessons.
How well does it match the curriculum?
Reasonably: It’s good enough for the money, but needs some additional resources
Well mapped out against national curriculum standards and a range of ideas - weaknesses are that some lessons and topics are quite boring for the children
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
More suggestions for how to stretch the gifted and talented artists and also suggested homework tasks would be good
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Reasonably: We can’t use it too often or for too long
They love having lessons which treat art as a core subject but they like to have more free choice in some of the tasks they do.
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
There is a good range of assessment for learning tasks which help to inform teacher judgements
How well does it support planning?
Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement
It has been very helpful for teachers to see updated plans as many of our art plans were out of date
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Reasonably: It represents about the same value for money as similar resources I’ve seen
It is good value for money considering how much planning is provided and the range of support videos is really helpful
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 8/11
