Great program particularly for those less experienced and non-specialist staff
How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
Supports none specialists with video content. Plots objectives across the key stage so coverage is clear and progressive. Some topics aren't quite where we would want them based on year group topics in other foundation subjects
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
Could do with some more support options for the least able in higher year groups - we have only recently started using the Kapow resources so some of our older children need further support
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Brilliantly: Pupils love using and are excited when they know they are going to do so
Pupils really enjoy all of the units we have covered so far. Motivated to take part in the sessions and enjoy learning about music from different countries and cultures.
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
We haven't at this stage used any formal assessments. We do however record at various points in the unit and use these as assessment points
How well does it support planning?
Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes
Great for less experienced teachers in particular. Offers clear lesson structures and informative videos for staff to use before each lesson
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
Schools always look for reductions in costs so if existing customers could receive discounts for continued use.
