How well does it match the curriculum?
Brilliantly: There is more content (eg support / extension activities) than we expected
Very thorough teaching videos and comprehensive plans with all resources included. A very thorough easy to work through plan.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
It covers it well with options for extending or simplifying. Could have more on misconceptions or what needs to have been taught previously for the lesson to be successful.
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
They enjoy all of the scenarios that are created in the computing and the challenges that are set especially on scratch and the word processing units.
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
I haven't used any of the assessment elements except a knowledge grabber which was useful at the start of a unit.
How well does it support planning?
Brilliantly: It has everything you could need and is straightforward to use with classes
Only weakness is there is a lot to read through but once read it means I feel very confident with how and what to teach each lesson.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
the units I have taught so far don't have many videos for the children - they are mainly for the teachers - it would be beneficial for more children's ones.
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 10/11
