How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
Interesting activities and learning for children. Lesson plans and videos are great for teachers, especially those with weak subject knowledge in DT.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
Needs more ideas to challenge children who are more skilled with DT (admittedly this is only a small number of pupils)
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
Children like the topics and it interests them. More instructional videos for the pupils (sometimes they are only there for the teacher)
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
We can use the formative assessments throughout the lessons and it matches our assessment tracker.
How well does it support planning?
Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation
Lesson plans are detailed. Videos are fantastic and shows how to use tools, next steps etc... which is so much easier than reading it on a piece of paper, especially for a subject like DT
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
Needs more DT instructional videos for children; more challenge for the more able pupils in DT would be an extra bonus too. Other than that we are very happy with the ideas and lesson plans provided..
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 10/11
