It's as good as or better than any other resource on Antarctica I have found.
How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
I use the resources on Antarctica, especially those relating to Shackleton and the Weddell Sea.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Reasonably: I tend to have to build in differentiated materials myself.
Good ideas for support and challenge
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
Good links to online resources especially.
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Reasonably: There is some formative assessment included, but its usefulness is a bit limited
I would have to create these myself.
How well does it support planning?
Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation
Good plans even though I have to adapt.
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Reasonably: It could be used at home or independently, but pupils would need some extra support or resources
I used materials during online learning but I had to adapt quite extensively.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
It's free!
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 10/11
