An excellent product which both supports and enhances children's learning. I would recommend this to other schools.
How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
A wide range of activities in various aspects of the curriculum. Children access activities at an appropriate level which both supports and extends in class learning.
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils
Lacks higher order thinking tasks and other tasks to fully extend the more able children. Ability for children's learning to continue into secondary schools (I am not sure if this option already exists).
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
The children like that the look and feel is similar to games they already know and play outside of school.
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
My understanding is that children can be assessed and these assessments inform the future activities the children accesses.
How well does it support planning?
Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement
There are activities to fit in with virtually all areas of the curriculum we plan for. It is easy to find activities on Education City that support the lessons we are planning in class.
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources
Children have individual logon details that can be accessed at home. It is easy to navigate at home - it is mostly KS2 children who access it out of school.
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen
As schools, we are always looking for better value for money - with Education City, this would be by reducing the price! - But I know this isn't always possible.
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 11/11
