Review rating:

Average rating across all Education City reviews: 3.9/5

How well does it match the curriculum?

Reasonably: It’s good enough for the money, but needs some additional resources

It has great informative videos which pupils use to revise and complete tasks. Downside is that not all areas are covered with instructional videos and have some paper based resources.

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Badly: There isn’t enough range or some the age-related expectations are misaligned

Having the option of different activities for one subject to allocate so that all abilities are catered for. Going down a year or two in the curriculum sometimes makes the content not very age-friendly.

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Reasonably: We can’t use it too often or for too long

They enjoy the live play to compete against others at school or in class. Having more curriculum matching resources will make it more useful as I occasionally use it to set homework.

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress

It has useful reading assessment tasks. I haven't used any of the other subjects to comment.

How well does it support planning?

Badly: It takes a lot of time or additional resources to use it in the classroom

It is easier to model as the teacher than use their resources to teach as sometimes it is too long or complicated. We use it for homework.

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources

The subjects that have instructional videos were very helpful during lockdowns.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Reasonably: It represents about the same value for money as similar resources I’ve seen

Making sure all curriculum content is covered comprehensively. So, that it can be used regularly rather than homework only (for matching resources).

Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 6/11
