We love the resource and are slowly discovering more and more about the resource (have only used for about 1 year). We look forward to using it further over time, and making fuller use of everything it offers.
How well does it match the curriculum?
Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected
There are wonderful video clips to support and enhance curriculum delivery. Not really a weakness but not all curriculum topics are covered
How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?
Reasonably: Essentially there’s enough for most pupils but there sometimes isn't enough support for SEND children who are very low but in chronological year group
Maybe more support for SEND children, and the potential to provide translated audio for EAL children
How well does it engage and motivate pupils?
Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so
The children love the video clips and extending their knowledge and understanding through watching and listening to these
How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?
Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress
We don't really use the resources for assessment, but having looked at what is available they look to provide a balanced tool which we might use in future.
How well does it support planning?
Reasonably: Mostly we can use it without an unreasonable amount of effort or additional resource requirement
Generally the teachers need little further preparation to use in their lessons beyond watching to familiarise themselves with the resources.
How well does it support home use / independent learning?
Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources
Again, this is not something we have really focused on using, but I do know children independently log in at home to further their own knowledge and understanding
How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?
Brilliantly: It’s possibly the best value for money of any similar resources I’ve seen
The reason we have signed up to using the resource is because of the wide range of curriculum areas it covers, coupled with the associated costs. The resource is not particularly cheap, but offers great value for money, and with everything in one place.
Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 10/11
