How well does it match the curriculum?

Well: It covers the curriculum as well as we expected

The curriculum framework, including the expected learning outcomes, communicates what teachers and learners should know and do

How well does it support adaptation for different groups of pupils?

Well: A large majority of resources are suitably differentiated for pupils

Differentiation is an essential part of teaching, but it can be difficult to cater to everyone in your class. There are some strategies to help.

How well does it engage and motivate pupils?

Well: Pupils generally enjoy using it and tend to welcome doing so

Extrinsic motivators are ones where you do something, not because you enjoy it or because you find it satisfying, but because you expect to get something in return or avoid something unpleasant.

How well supported is it by any included formative assessments?

Well: We could (or do) use it for monitoring individual pupil progress

Pupil progress is a tricky topic. All too often used synonymously with overly-detailed, workload-heavy paperwork.

How well does it support planning?

Well: It’s fairly self-contained and can be used with minimal preparation

Pupil progress is a tricky topic. All too often used synonymously with overly-detailed, workload-heavy paperwork.

How well does it support home use / independent learning?

Well: Pupils could be expected to use this at home or independently, with a minimum amount of support or additional resources

Pupil progress is a tricky topic. All too often used synonymously with overly-detailed, workload-heavy paperwork.

How would you rate it for value for money compared to similar resources?

Well: It’s worth the money and effort to introduce – more so than many similar resources I’ve seen

Value for money development should be effective: achieving program outcomes in relation to the total cost of inputs

Would you recommend it to a colleague in a similar school to yours? 9/11
