Schoolzone evaluations are a cost effective process through which, as a publisher, you receive valuable classroom based, pedagogical studies of your products written by fully trained key stage and subject area specialists.  This feedback is useful both for ongoing product development activity and marketing materials and is based on Becta's Quality principles for digital learning resources.

Service summary

All evaluations are carried out within the classroom context over the period of 8 weeks and provide in-depth pedagogical feedback on your product. This study results in an extensive written report.

Schoolzone evaluations are fully independent, but no evaluation will be published without your authorisation. Once this is received Schoolzone evaluations will be promoted as set out in the marketing package.

Schoolzone evaluators are fully trained subject and key stage specialists – profiled to match your target market.

All evaluations link to a point of sale on the publisher’s web site and we report to you on click though rates.

Evaluation details can be used in any marketing and we will provide you with an "evaluated by schoolzone" logo to use in your marketing.

The service cost of £495 includes 2 years of hosting on the Schoolzone server and the marketing and reporting packages below.

Schoolzone evaluations are marketed through a mix of the following media:

• Email newswires to our 50,000+ well profiled registered users
• RSS feeds on site
• Email newsletters to 10,000 UK school addresses
• The Independent newspaper’s termly supplement
• Shows including BETT, the Education show and SETT

Reporting to clients

All Schoolzone clients are provided with log-in access to an administration page to manage their own information regarding the titles evaluated and their company details.

Clients will be sent monthly service updates.

Schoolzone will report to clients when the first draft of the evaluation report is available and ensure that final approval is received prior to publication.

Clients will be advised when the evaluation is published on the Schoolzone web site.

Schoolzone will provide clients with 6 monthly reminders to show:

• Evaluated titles
• Associated content eg images, publisher’s description
• Client log in reminder
